On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Teachers Health Trust and the Trust’s staff, I would like to thank all of you for your tremendous support during the recent contract negotiations and arbitration proceedings with CCSD. Many thousands of you signed our online petition, contacted the Superintendent of Schools and School Board Trustees and spoke in our favor at various meetings. Your voices were heard and they were a contributing factor to the decision of CCSD not to go forward with its stated intention of terminating its contractual relationship with the Teachers Health Trust.

The Trust has been providing excellent benefits to teachers for more than 28 years. The attempt by CCSD to deny you of this benefit was strongly resisted by my entire staff and by many physicians, dentists, hospitals and other providers who are part of our strong network. We are here for you and intend to continue providing the benefits you need in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle while, at the same time, maintaining the fiscal integrity of the Trust as we go forward. We will also continue to work hard to protect your valuable benefits in the event there are future attempts by CCSD to terminate the Trust.
