The 2011 Open Enrollment packets were recently sent out to all participants. To view a copy of the 2011 Open Enrollment packet click here.

The Teachers Health Trust (Trust) is pleased to provide you with your 2011 Open Enrollment information. Changes to your plan selections and enrollment options for yourself and your dependent(s) may be made by selecting the Open Enrollment link and completing a change form online. All changes forms must be received by the Trust no later than 5:45 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010. All changes will be effective January 1, 2011.

If you wish to:

  • change plans,
  • add/delete coverage for your dependent(s),
  • change your primary or contingent beneficiary, or
  • enroll in the Section 125 Premium-Only Plan (only if you are not currently enrolled),

then you MUST fill out the change form online and submit the appropriate eligibility documents to the Trust by 5:45 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010.

The Trust will send you a confirmation letter once your change form is processed and your eligibility is updated. Please allow 10 business days for processing. If you do not receive a confirmation letter, please call 702-794-0272 or 1-800-432-5859 or e-mail the Trust at serviceteam@teachershealthtrust.org. Trust office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. It is your responsibility to confirm that your forms and/or documentation have been received and processed by the Trust.

If you wish to keep your current coverage for the 2011 calendar year, you DO NOT need to submit a change form.

2011 Plan Changes

The new Plan Document (PD), which will be available online in 2011, will include three major changes to your benefits effective January 1, 2011:

  • All dependent children aged 19 to 26 can remain on your insurance regardless of their marital status or student status as long as health coverage is not available through their employers. Because of this, the Trust no longer requires student status documentation be submitted each semester. However, a new Dependent Certification Form (which you can obtain online) must be completed and sent in for each dependent that falls into this category. The Trust will request an updated Dependent Certification Form from you annually. If your dependents become eligible for coverage through their employers, you will have 31 days from the date their new coverage begins to delete them from your plan.
  • A new weight loss program, Safely Taking Off Pounds (S.T.O.P), begins for all Diamond and Platinum Medical Plan participants and their dependents. A flyer about the program is included in this packet.
  • The Trust has removed its $2 million lifetime benefit maximum with respect to its medical and prescription benefits. For a side-by-side comparison of the out-of-pocket costs between the two PPO plans (Diamond and Platinum), please click here.
